Howdy Music friends!
How's it going out there?Things are great here.I'm going to jump ahead and tell you all about THE BEST DREAM COME TRUE SHOW EVER!!!

Imagine THE BARN JAM here at Awendaw Green&nbsp;<a href="http://www.awendawgreen.com" target="_new">www.awendawgreen.com on a Friday night- My birthday, March 29th!! Yep, it's true- there is a special birthday jam with my band Firework show, Josh Roberts and The Hinges,&nbsp;<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ELosPc3-c0&amp;feature=player_embedded">www.youtube.com/watch and recently added artists Bret Mosley&nbsp;<a target="_new" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HrexjQQXHY">www.youtube.com/watch and Finnegan Bell. <a target="_new" href="http://www.reverbnation.com/finneganbellmusic">www.reverbnation.com/finneganbellmusic

Here's a little about March 29th Owl-Rath Fest
The Barn Jams at Awendaw Green have become the Southeast's indie/grass-roots connecting hinge for musicians who are making hardcore culture shifts in American music today.

Josh Roberts and The Hinges, affectionately known to fans as J-RATH are teaming up again with Danielle Howle + Firework Show to bring you Owl-Rath Fest. This will be a night of unadulterated rock and roll face melting, combined with the most subtle of harmonic moments.

Owl-Rath Fest musicians will conjure the ancient musical conversation about the celebration and calling up of creativity in it's truest form of action. Spread far and wide, and share wildly, this call of musical ohm with all of your people. Get your advanced tickets at http://daniellehowle.com/houseconcertsshowtickets.cfm to ensure your safe entry into the wildest show of spirit on earth.

The place to be on Friday, March 29th is Awendaw Green: The FB invite for the event is: <a target="_new" href="https://www.facebook.com/events/539280936093937">www.facebook.com/events/539280936093937

For those of you who may be traveling from out of town (or out of state) to this event, there is some camping on the Barn Jam site available for first come first serve. Email me here directly to reserve in advance.The invite on facebook will tell you all about this, or the ticket purchasing area of my website. Spread the word! Also, there are affordable hotels 8-10 miles up the road in Mount Pleasant, SC.

During this mini-fest, we will also be holding a Grit Cook-off competition. To enter this, you can DO IT right where you buy tickets to the concert on my site. If you enter the Grit Cook-off then you are most welcome to stay for the whole concert. All proceeds from the GRIT-OFF go to benefit my community music project called <a target="_new" href="http://www.swampsessions.com">www.swampsessions.com
This is the ONLY &quot;Off The Grid&quot; studio and music project in SC. It is recorded on SOLAR POWER in the beautiful Francis Marion National Forest in a swamp house!! :) Compete in the GRIT-OFF and win a free trip to the Swamp House with a concert by yours truly. &nbsp;There's never going to be another opportunity to support a great project and get back to nature than this!!

BUT WAIT.... why support Swamp Sessions?? There are some notable and rarified performances by Cary Ann Hearst, Bret Mosley, Edwin McCain, Joel Hamilton, Joel Timmons (Sol Driven Train) and Mark Bryan of Hootie and The Blowfish, to name a few you may have heard of before. We also have many artists that kick ass that are up-and coming in this rare collection of songs. To learn more about this project click on the website listed above, or visit Swamp Sessions on facebook. FRiend us, for we are small, but mighty! <a href="https://www.facebook.com/swampsessions?ref=hl" target="_new">www.facebook.com/swampsessions

Well, now I will switch gears to something less pleasant but super important. I guess many of you heard about my car accident right before Christmas. I was rear ended on a major highway, while at a complete stop in traffic. OUCH. &nbsp;I am still recovering from this physically and without health insurance- its getting rough financially as well.

&nbsp;Also, I lost all my PA gear, my car and a lot more stuff, which I hope to have replaced somehow. There is a place on my website where donations are being accepted for my gear and now for medical expenses. &nbsp;Go to the merch section and click on MUSIC- it will come right up for more information on how to help. I can be reached on this website if you wish to speak to me about this.

Fortunately, Kevin Oliver, regional and national music journalist, along with many of our friends in my hometown of Columbia, SC, threw me a yard sale where money was raised to help me out! A guitar was donated to me as well! I feel very lucky to have this support and still, more is needed. &nbsp;I have never been one to ask, but I am asking now.

So spread the word on that and the wonderful concert on March 29th. Come hang and &quot;festivalize&quot; with us, hear the new music I have been creating with my band and others, while enjoying this pristine setting in the low country of South Carolina- The Barn Jam at Awendaw Green, is where I have been doing my artist in residency work! &nbsp;It will be a HUGE show and I hope to see you there. Love from DMFH

Hey Music friends!! it is true I was in a wreck and I am so happy to be alive, healing, and working through it. That's the main thing for sure!! Hurray and Happy New Year! The music gear and car that I used to travel in have been destroyed.

I will keep you updated and tell you what happened in detail a little later. I just did not want you guys to worry. For now, check out all the cool dates I have in January. I hope my body will heal enough to play them all. I have some very special guests coming to my area to make music with me and for you.

Also, I have placed two categories of house concerts that are available for you to be a part of in the merchandise section of my site. Good things to have in the springtime! If you have any questions, or interest, feel free to email me. I am so very grateful to be here on this planet with all of you. Happy New year!! 2013 is the best ever!! Love and Light, Danielle Howle

Bacon turkey Sweater and updates DMFH/Swamp Sessions

Smiles and thanksgiving memories. Just had to share this photo of the turkey in a woven, bacon sweater! It was taken on an outdoor table at Awendaw Green, by a pond where fish jump and ducks chatter. Awendaw Green's fashion designer in residence, Rachelle Rose, snapped this before the staff dug in! This is truly the best turkey I have ever had in my life. Thanks you guys!

Speaking of holidays, I have put up some new jewelry in the store to check out. Buying quality hand-crafter holiday gifts is cool. Support working, independant artists. New concert dates have been posted as well.

Thank you to those who have booked your DH house concerts. There is still time to get me for Christmas Parties or holiday family events. Email me!

THANK YOU for visiting my site. If you sign up for the mailing list now, you will receive a free download of a Danielle Howle + Firework Show song from the CD &quot;New Year Revolutions&quot;. This work was recorded in the baby house (where I live) at Awendaw Green. You will also receive special emails from me periodically. Some people call these special emails &quot;newsletters&quot; but mine hardly qualify traditoinally in format. I am a bit technologically challenged and working on it. However, they are intelligent and informative updates for people on the list, containing links to exclusive media content that might make you smile and hopefully make you have a great damn day!

Going to the Swamp House today to hang with Awendaw Green staff and dig on some nature times. Check out&nbsp;<a href="http://www.swampsessions.com"> www.swampsessions.com We will keep updating you about Swamp Ssessions &quot;Off the Grid&quot; Sustainable Energy Project on this site and FB page. Please &quot;friend&quot; Swamp Sessions and tell your friends to check us out! Remember to &quot;Hover&quot; over the &quot;Like&quot; button so the drop-down menu appears for you to make a choice to receive our updates.<a href="./swampsessions.cfm"> http://www.facebook.com/swampsessions?ref=hl&nbsp;

The recording sessions for this project were done on solar power in the Swamp House (photo above) in the Francis Marion National Forest. This work started in late 2011 and was completed in 2012. Swamp Sessions Volume 1 showcases songwriters from around the states that came to record in the solar powered Swamp House. Swamp Sessions Volume 1 compiles SIX recording sessions and will be released in 2013.

Again, thanks for stopping by. it is a true honor to make art and to be able to talk about it here with you.

Email me!

October FUN

October FUN!

HOWLE+MOSLEY
South Carolina's own &quot;punk rock girl with the voice of a honky-tonk angel&quot; embarks on new musical partnership with Brooklyn's &quot;rough-and-tumble upstart with an extraordinary sense of rhythm and a razor-sharp tongue&quot;, formed in early 2012 in the swamps outside Charleston, SC.

Each an accomplished artist in their own right, Danielle has shared the stage with Bob Dylan, Fugazi and countless others. Bret's debut release &quot;Light &amp; Blood&quot; was hailed as &quot;a heartfelt masterpiece&quot; by Neufutur magazine. The potent blend of their rawness and honesty has left live listeners consistently seeking out a recording of the duo...more to come on that front soon.

Since their first tour this spring, the new duo of Danielle Howle and Bret Mosley, HOWLE+MOSLEY has garnered tremendous initial response, including their opening slots for Junior Brown, Patterson Hood of the Drive By Truckers and Jerry Joseph &amp; the Jackmormons.

October 2012 Tour Dates:
10/18 Fernandina Beach, FL &ndash; Dog Star Tavern
10/19 Ocean Springs, MS &ndash; Mezo's Juke Joint
10/20 Montgomery, AL &ndash; Alley Bar
10/24 Tallahassee, FL &ndash; Mockingbird Caf&eacute;
10/25 Gainesville, FL &ndash; The Bull
10/26 Damascus, GA &ndash; The Powerline
10/27 Alpharetta, GA &ndash; Firefly

September Goodness

What fortunate times. the band and I have been up to all good recording in the baby house and working rather diligently with pure love on some new tunes. We cannot wait to share them with you so stay tuned.

YES, we did record 3 live videos at Awendaw Green with the amazing video company out of Columbia, SC called Kirchenfish. Thanks tothe fine volunteer staff at AG, we were able to make this dream come true. www.kitchenfish.com Music videos will air very soon.

Other news:
I am up to my duet singing tricks. Mac Leaphart, one of my favorite writers &nbsp;of all time, has written a new one for me and we JUST tracked it for his new CD. &nbsp;www.macleaphart.com It is the sequel to a tune on his last record called &quot;Cold Hard Truth&quot;. Good luck in Nashville Mac, you will rock their socks off! You are one of hte best story tellers and performers on this earth bro!

NEW MUSIC FRIENDS
I was so pleased to maintain momentum on &nbsp;my duet and back-up singing tricks with a most excellent new friend named Jefferson Coker. &nbsp;Here is a preview of his new tune. http://www.reverbnation.com/jeffreyjcokermusic
Jefferson has an iconical &nbsp;country-based ass-kickin heart-felt voice that will blow you away. His work moves freely from honokty-tonk outlaw country to classic R&amp;B with a twist of arrangement genius.

We have had some fabulous gigs and we appreciate people coming out. Playing Mauldin Cultural Center with the awesome Rachael Troublefield Nelson. (URL)

It was also super awesome to open for Drivin' N' Cryin' at the fabulous WindJammer on Isle of Palms. I was really amazed by Kevin Kinney and his awesome band. Their lighting and sound techs are the bomb and I even got to hang by the board for two songs and watch them work. &nbsp;Thanks guys! We all love you.

We wish to welcome our new Marketing and media specialist Stephanie Smith and also introduce you to the new legal consultant William Bee Ravenel Lewis of www.lewislawgroupllc.com That's right!! We have a team now.

For the rest of September and October, I will be playing shows with my band and do a tour with my duo and life partner Bret Mosley. www.bretmosley.com Stay tuned for more news of all things musical. Love and light to you, my music friends.

Danielle Howle Announces New Album/Opening for The Avett Brothers on New Years Eve 2011!

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

On Dec 18-19, in The Baby House (home of Howle) Danielle Howle + Firework Show tracked a 9 song CD in Garage band (of all cantankerous formats) to be released New Year's Eve when they open for The Avett Brothers at Bi-Lo Center in Greeenville, SC.

A Free download of the song &ldquo;Sleeping Man&rdquo; is available on <a href="http://soundcloud.com/danielle-howle/sleeping-man">http://soundcloud.com/danielle-howle/sleeping-man

Howle suggests in return that interested people subscribe to her <a href="http://www.daniellehowle.com">website and &ldquo;like&rdquo; her band page on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Danielle-Howle/54736178631">Facebook. Also, sharing the song with others in social media can bring many smiles.

Howle says, &ldquo;I want to hear from people who enjoy this song and also see them at shows. I love recording, but I truly love playing live most. It has been a long time since I have been in a band this skilled. They are dedicated to playing live and touring the material. This is a huge re-birth for me. I want people to come see what I am doing and experience my evolution as an artist. NOW is the time.&rdquo;

The well-known Charleston- based band <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Firework-Show/7907741477">Firework Show&nbsp;(winner of &ldquo;Best Experimental Band&rdquo; for Charleston City paper music awards) teamed up with Howle four months ago. The ensemble plays their 14th show with <a href="http://www.theavettbrothers.com">The Avett Brothers on New Year's Eve in Greenville, SC. Hear Avett Bros music and get tickets now before this event sells out.

The Baby House bathroom was converted into an iso-booth for guitarist Zach Bodtorf's vintage rig.

The new CD &ldquo;New Year Revolutions&rdquo; was recorded on Garage Band, a program in Apple Computers, not considered &ldquo;industry standard&rdquo;, but effective when using a Presonus Firestudio Pro interface. All gear was donated by band members and <a href="http://www.awendawgreen.com/">Awendaw Green. Nobody got paid, and no musicians were harmed in the creation of this project.

&ldquo;I am using what resources I have to make the best art possible and get it out to the folks who care about it,&rdquo; says Howle. &ldquo;Spending time fretting about getting a budget together to record in a studio is bullshit. I need to create. In doing so, it won't be long until I get to do this again with either more appropriate gear or in a bigger studio. Who knows, we might stick to The Baby Bouse. No big deal to me. Creation is motion and motion is momentum for more authentic experiences in art making.&rdquo;

Sean Kelly says, &quot;Going in to this record, it was clear to me that we weren't looking for top notch, high end sounds and making sure every note was polished. This record was about capturing every aspect of the performance: the band, Danielle's vocal, and the room we were in. It was about the intensity and the feeling of each moment and how everyone played off them. I think we really captured that.&quot;&nbsp;

A full circle moment for Howle was having Sean Kelly, frontman and principal songwriter from the band &ldquo;A Fragile Tomorrow&rdquo; engineer and co-produced her new recording. In 2010, Howle produced A Fragile Tomorrow's album, &ldquo;Tripping Over Nothing&rdquo; which led to their introduction to and ongoing touring relationship with Indigo Girls, a band that helped start Howle's career about two decades ago.

&ldquo;A Fragile Tomorrow&rdquo; recently returned to Charleston from west coast tour dates with &ldquo;The Bangles&rdquo; a mainstay in alterna-pop history. Touring, while studying engineering at Full Sail University online, Sean Kelly is developing his recording skills and ear.

&ldquo;Making this project was a magic time for me, says Howle. I know magic when I see it. The band &ldquo;Firework Show&rdquo; stands well alone in their music.&nbsp;To have them and Sean team up with me is a dream come true. I cannot believe what we accomplished in just two days. This is a great beginning of more art to come.&rdquo;

Is there such a thing as Lo-Fi digital? This genre-busting group of artists called Danille Howle + Firework Show cannot be defined. They are busy creating in any way possible and serving the songs they hear.

Hello friends! Exciting times in my world.

Ten Toes Up, cd: &ldquo;Sleeping Lion&rdquo; Produced by Danielle Howle is CHARTING right NOW!!

A Fragile Tomorrow, cd :Tripping Over Nothing&rdquo; Produced by Danielle Howle is touring with Indigo Girls- AGAIN!!!

Charleston Performing Arts Center: The most amazing show: Feb 8 2011

The road was muddy and treacherous out of the Francis Marion swamp by the Eachaw Creek. My Toyota Camry braved the mud and and hour or so later I was backstage at The Indigo Girls concert at Charleston Performing Arts Center. SC rules! It was a big day because I had not seen the Girls and their crew in a long time and a reunion of friends was had. TO top it off the band A Fragile Tomorrow was opening up. Gee, didn't I produce their album last year called &ldquo;Tripping Over Nothing&rdquo; smiles! :)

To make things more fun, I got to sing with both bands on the home me home turn and now AFT's home turf. And that's another story for later, as you know they migrated to Chuck from Orange County NY just a year and a half ago- three under-age bad-asses telling their parents- WE GOTTA MOVE TO SOUTH CAROLINA FOR MUSIC.

TO make things AWESOME fun was the film crew &ldquo;Go To Team&rdquo; (an amazing award winning film crew) were there to document the show and the relationships between Indigo Girls, Danielle Howle, A Fragile Tomorrow and Awendaw Green for the documentary they are making (over the course of this year) about Awendaw Green.

I am &ldquo;Artist In Residence&rdquo; at Awendaw Green. Eddie White is our proprietor. My relationships with all the aforementioned humans came to huge fruition this very evening of Tuesday, February 8th 2011. I was completely floored and happy with this. Under &ldquo;Go To Team&rdquo; film crew direction, I conducted interviews with AFT and I.G. for the Awendaw Green documentary, got to sing with both bands, and hang with Eddie and Laurie White. How cool is that! If you don''t know about the Barn Jams on Wednesday night at Awendaw Green, then you should. WWW.awendawgreen.com

This a really great way to end a day. Now, read on peoples- guess what happened Feb 6 and 7.

Swamp Sessions &ldquo;Off The Grid&rdquo; Sustainable Energy Recording Project

Session #1 Sunday, February 6 and Monday, February 7

Over the course of 2011 Awendaw Green is making a sustainable energy recording project in a solar house on the Eachaw Creek in the Francis Marion National Forest. During our first recording session, artists Cary Ann Herst, Joel T. Hamilton (The Working Title), Doug Jones (Cravin Melon), Josh Roberts (Josh Roberts and The Hinges), and Danielle Howle, were joined by Awendaw Green's sound engineer in residence Nat Mundy with the intention of recording songs and writing new ones on site to record. It went very well.

Proceeds will go to benefit the upkeep and programming of Awendaw Green. We are getting some amazing artists in SC and nationally, to come do this and I will send more word soon. Can't tell you bout the big rock stars though- buy the record. Sponsorship for this project is growing so rapidly in the art and business communities, but I am keeping up. Thanks to our artists, No Boundaries, Sewee Outpost, Palmetto Brewing, Wiz-Works, Kitchen Fish, Coastal Expeditions, Department of Defense, Awendaw Green Supporters, and anyone who loves music. Love DH- and more news soon.
