Meeting at Neil Jordan’s Steakhouse = Awesome!

An Amazing meeting of creative wizards at Neil Jordan’s Steakhouse. It’s amazing what four individuals can put into motion when good food is involved. Mike Ross, a volunteer benefit coordinator picked out a wonderful restaurant for us to meet in.  IMG_0613I’ve been driving by Neil Jordan’s for a good while now, even before they opened I noticed all the hard work these people were putting into their business. Now I know what all of the fuss is about! Great Steak sandwich and very affordable. I met With Mike and others supporting Pattison’s Academy. Go to their site! Click here for Pattison’s Academy. I just had to copy and paste this RIGHT HERE from their home page so you will begin to see the value of what this organization is doing. NO ONE, and I repeat- NO one is doing this in this area and the staff at Pattison’s Academy has really stepped up their goals to educated and care for children with multiple disabilities. In order to serve the approximately 4,000 children with serious functional or mental disabilities in Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley counties, we are building a non-profit, school offering team-based, year-round academics integrated with pediatric therapy and rehabilitation. Currently, in our area, families with special needs children and children with multiple disabilities are solely dependent on public schools and early intervention programs for services and treatment. However, some of these children need a more therapy-based approach to their care and education. I did not realize there are 2000 children and families in Charleston, Berkely and Dorchester counties that need assistance now! WOW! This is the most amazing project I have EVER been involved with.. You may have heard me say this before. You may understand that this is true. Can you imagine my surprise at being able to say this again at all? SUPER WOW! I hope all you dear music friends will understand that there are NO coincidence in me meeting Mike Ross at Awendaw Green’s Wednesday night Barn Jams.

I kept speaking with Mike briefly at a few Barn Jams and then one night, he began to tell me about Pattison’s Academy. I saw his enthusiasm and deep love for the Academy and their goals. We talked for two solid hours sharing ideas. His stories, and passion compelled me to get involved with Pattison’s Academy. When I went to lunch and met Pam Sloat and Mike’s wife Kelli Ross. I knew even further I was in the right place. There are indeed no coincidences! I have become their music coordinator for a benefit show at Awendaw Green to be held Sunday, November 29th, from 2-9pm. If you buy a Christmas gift early this year, please get them tickets to our event because we will sell out, once I disclose the line-up of artists we have on our roster. For $40.00 bucks you get food, beer and some great music.

IF you come to one event this year to see me play, it should be on Sunday, November 29th from 2-9pm. I mean seriously, if your family/thanksgiving time is starting to get a little freaky, come hang, relax, and feel good. Rocking for this cause will be huge. Also, seeing the artists I will have on this stage is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Awendaw Green is big enough so that you can mix with all your friends and still have your family there- even the ones you might want to ignore for a spell. WHEW!! I will be making music with some of the finest artists in the USA. Come be a part of this history and most importantly that of Pattison’s Academy. Pattison’s Academy is letting us help them build a school here folks! Now that’s amazing. I want children with multiple disabilities to have somewhere to go learn, rehabilitate, meet their potential and feel more great things in life. All love, D
